Joshua

Hello people!!! It has been awhile since I got on here and made a post. I have been reflecting a lot about this experience and how it has impacted my life. Since I have been diagnosed with anxiety and have worked on my overcoming, I have met a lot of new people of all ages along the way. From these people, I have heard about so many different experiences and techniques to help overcome it. Since I have gone through this experience, I have noticed that I am able to spot out people who struggle with anxiety and what to do when an attack hits. I have come to the realization that the Lord has given me an experience like this so that I can help others who may struggle with the same thing.

The other day I noticed myself starting to get anxiety about something and I started flipping through my bible. I stopped on the book of Joshua and began reading. It is amazing how much the Holy Bible can relate to our time today. Joshua was written in 587 B.C and it is still relevant TODAY, IN 2018. Furthermore, the purpose behind Joshua was to emphasize the Lord’s faithfulness and fulfilling his promise to us. The book begins with the Lord telling Joshua of Moses’ death. He commanded Joshua to lead the people to their inheritance and it is possible they will run into some obstacles along the way.

When I first read this I stopped and thought.. Oh my goodness I cannot imagine if the Lord gave me a task like leading these people to their land being their leader!!!!! But then as I sat back and thought about it, the Lord gives us tasks like this all the time, he calls out by name to do things even when we are unsure. We are all sometimes just like Joshua. Sometimes he gives us big tasks because he knows we can handle it. These tasks also remind us that we can do anything when we are faithful to him and remember his promise. He says to Joshua before his journey, “Have I not commanded you, be strong and courageous, do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

He doesn’t just approach Joshua and say do this I believe you can do it. He says be STRONG and be COURAGEOUS. He tells him I WILL be with you WHEREVER you go. Just think, whatever you are going through in life, whatever task he called you to, whatever journey you are about to embark on, you will never go through it alone, just like Joshua on his journey. Be strong and be courageous, even when you feel like you cant. Be thankful for each day and what it entails. Be confident in yourself through whatever task he may give you. Whatever journey you may embark on, you will learn from. My journey through anxiety completely changed my life. I walked through the valley and came out stronger than before. Talk to him as you go through these tasks, he will always listen.

I have a prayer that I pray every morning. I want to share this with you all and challenge you to start each day with a similar prayer

Dear Lord,

Thank you for another wonderful day. Please remind me today that no matter what may happen, you are with me wherever I go. Please use me to be a light to others and show me the ways that I can make someone’s day better. Please remind me to be strong and courageous when I feel discouraged or frightened. I cannot wait to see what is in store for this day. Thank you for all that you have done for me. (Sometimes I even say “well I’ll talk to you later” before I say amen hahah) amen.

WHAT AN AMAZING GOD WE SERVE!!!

Be strong & Courageous
